MOODGLOW - Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 June 2026

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Zaycode (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the mobile application MOODGLOW (the “App”), a personal daily mood journal. For more information visit zaycode.com. By using the App you agree to this policy.

Our privacy-first model

MOODGLOW is designed to keep your data on your device. Your mood entries (date, mood, intensity, optional note and tags) and your preferences are stored locally on your phone in an on-device database. We do not operate user accounts, we do not upload your journal to our servers, and we cannot read your entries.

Information we do not collect

Advertising

The Android version of the App is free and supported by advertising through Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, such as a device advertising identifier, approximate location derived from IP, and ad-interaction data. This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller.

Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder, the App schedules a local notification on your device. Notification permission is only requested when you turn the feature on, never at launch. Reminders are generated locally; no reminder data is sent to us.

Update checks

To let you know when a newer version is available, the App may query the Apple App Store (via Apple’s public lookup service) and/or fetch a small static version file we host. These requests do not include personal data.

Your data & controls

Because your data lives only on your device, uninstalling the App also removes it. Keep an export if you want a backup.

Children

MOODGLOW is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Not a medical service

MOODGLOW is a self-reflection tool and is not a medical device, diagnosis, or therapy. It is not a substitute for professional advice. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Since your journal is stored only on your device, you can exercise these directly through the in-app export and delete controls. For questions about ad-related processing, please also refer to Google’s policies above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, noted in the App.
